Many management truisms have arisen out of the understanding that measuring the right things in your business is critical to its very survival. These "things" are known as Critical Success Factors. The measurements we use to determine how well a business performs against its Critical Success Factors are called Key Performance Indicators, or KPIs for short.
Key Performance Indicators represent a set of measures focusing on the aspects of your business performance that are most critical for the current and future success of your organization.
